Chorea Memoriae investigates the emergence of light patterns through long-exposure photography undertaken in meditative states. During each exposure, light accumulates into layered forms, gathering successive moments within a single image. The photographs bring duration, perception and sustained attention into relation, exploring how the conditions of observation participate in the formation of an image.
The process carries a subtle affinity with mediumistic art and its exploration of altered states as conditions for image-making. Here, meditation opens a space of receptivity in which light and photographic exposure become materials for discovery. The resulting forms invite associations that remain open, moving between the perceptible world and the images that take shape within it.
