THE ONLY THING I REMEMBER ABOUT THIS PLACE IS NOT BEING HERE
2014
The Only Thing I Remember About This Place Is Not Being Here intertwines personal, collective and architectural memories, exploring how a place can become familiar through histories and experiences beyond our own.
The title introduces a tension between recollection and absence. Architecture holds traces of previous lives, while individual memories meet the stories through which a place is collectively understood. The work considers how these overlapping accounts shape a sense of belonging, and how absence itself can become part of what we remember.
