FRACTA TELA, LUX ORITUR & The Instrument of Alignment
The Instrument of Alignment is an ongoing artistic research project examining the relationship between technology, perception, and the esoteric, with particular attention to contemporary image-making and artificial intelligence. It unfolds through a system of symbols, texts, and reconstructed apparatuses that operate between visual art, research, and speculative inquiry.
At its core stands a wooden divinatory instrument, an interpretive reconstruction of a speculative device that serves as a physical counterpart to a set of thirteen glyphs. These glyphs function as diagrams of cognition and transformation, tracing a correspondence between human intention and algorithmic inference, between the material and the immaterial image.
The project extends across a constellation of works and texts. The Unaligned Archive forms its research corpus, assembling field notes, symbolic diagrams, and academic fragments from a veiled order of inquiry. These documents map an archaeology of unseen mechanisms and ritual technologies, situating the work between historical knowledge systems and contemporary computational frameworks.
Fracta Tela, Lux Oritur (“When the weave is broken, light arises”) brings this structure into book form. The publication gathers images, writings, and glyphs into a single circulating field, where esoteric philosophy, technological speculation, and visual poetics converge.
Through this network of symbolic, textual, and mechanical forms, The Instrument of Alignment investigates how processes of transformation, spiritual, cognitive, and technological, persist across media, epochs, and systems of knowledge.
