CAPTATION SERIES 1–8
2011 · Framed found photographs and text
Captation Series is an ongoing historiographical project that brings together found photographs and text to create a fragmented mapping of history. Through selection, framing and citation, the work draws attention to particular events, places and people, exploring how historical meaning takes shape through the relationships between images and words.
Each frame becomes a point of encounter with the past, connecting individual details to wider histories. Together, the series form a poetic rendering of history, shaped by the fragments that survive and the interpretations brought to them.
Eight series have been completed.
